ABOUT US
We are a small USDA licensed hobby breeder located in northern Colorado Springs (just south of Monument) and have been breeding hedgies since 2010.

HEALTH & LIFETIME WARRANTY
We are responsible breeders (females are never bred any more often than twice in a 12-month period and we breed only healthy pairs). All babies born at RMH carry a 1-year health warranty as well as a life-time warranty against genetic defects which although rare, can show up in even the healthiest appearing hedgies.

Our hedgies share their space with 4 crazy ferrets, a loopy Yellow Lab, 2 cats and the human caregivers.

BUY-BACK POLICY
We recognize that sometimes, no matter how sure you are about something, you realize that things don't always work out as planned.  If you change your mind about owning a hedgie, or just can't keep it, we will buy it back. (NOTE: if a hedgie shows signs of neglect or abuse, we reserve the right to have it checked by our veterinarian. If this has happened, please be upfront about it so we can get the hedgie treated promptly.)

Our buy-back schedule is:
1-7 days: FULL refund
8-14 days: 75% refund
15-21 days: 50% refund
22-30 days: 25% refund
after 30 days: NO refund

PRICING:
Baby hedgies cost $200. From time to time, we retire our older hedgies from breeding (usually at about 2 years for females) and offer them at discounted prices to good homes. Check our site often for info on babies and adults for sale.

IS A HEDGIE RIGHT FOR ME?
As with other pets, there are a multitude of reasons people decide to add a hedgie to their families. Some people are attracted to the fact that hedgies are "exotics".  Others fall in love with their adorable looks.

If you have no experience with hedgies, we recommend you do some research on them before going out and buying one. Know what goes into caring for a hedgie - they have specific dietary and environmental needs that must be closely followed, and your hedgie will need a vet who has experience treating hedgehogs.  A sick hedgie can go downhill very quickly, so make sure you have a qualified vet picked out BEFORE you buy your hedgie.

Find a reputable breeder from which to buy your new pet. We recommend against buying off  craigslist because you don't know what you're getting.  (see HELPFUL LINKS & INFO)

We at RMH suggest interested hedgie parents with no experience visit our facility and spend time with our herd.  We hold "meet and greets" on Fridays and Saturdays by appointment, between 10am and 4pm. This is a good opportunity to handle the hedgies, learn about how their personalities vary and see the different colors they come in.  It will also help you make up your mind as to whether or not a hedgie is the right pet for you. Some people do leave our facility having changed their minds about adding a hedgie to their family.  And that's OK too!  Our goal is happy hedgies and customers, even if it means having a customer change their mind about buying one.
